Don't think I can do it.

Makes sense. The 4.7 is like the gen. II GSO 5 with obvious improvements. My 5 is my favorite knife that I own and have used, and like I've said, with a new design on the horizon, there could be a real expiration date on what I consider to be my grail.

isn't that the point of a "grail knife"? once you get it, its no longer a grail and a new object must takes its place in the grail status????? in other words if you buy a nice knife thinking it's your last...good luck :)

Ha! Only time will tell, especially in this case because Guy has this weird fetish for constantly trying to outdo himself :D..... but whichever I like more, the 5 or 4.7, it would take something truly monumental to dethrone it. I felt a sense of satisfaction when I received my 5 that I never felt from any other purchase. It was a rare and magical case of an item completely living up to the overblown expectations and fantasies in my mind.

I can't think of the word for what you're describing, like something that you don't have yet, but in your mind it is perfect and you must have it. Then you get it and like it, but find something new to obsess over that you don't have yet. For me a grail knife is the one that is just perfect for you and is your favorite with all others being distant seconds.

I felt the same way when i got my 4.1. I have made a point of not identifying a "grail knife" only because then my wife my tell me to stop buying after i achieve it...so far she has been pretty chill about the whole blade lust thing....if Guy ever makes a sword though i am doomed...

I know the dilemma that you find yourself, and as was said, you gotta do what is best for you. With ammo prices as they are currently, you might want to consider reloading. But, the components are getting scarce and are expensive as well. The cost of equipment to reload is expensive, but you will get that back over time. The GSO 5 is a very carryable and usable size, and I can't wait to get my example that was ordered at the same time as yours. Good luck on your decision.

I mostly shoot .223 and 9mm. Which when I last checked wasn't the most economical to reload unfortunately

I'd only consider letting it go if you have another S! blade or one on order. Do you really want to be Survive-less? When all the ammo is gone, it's nice to know you can still rely on your S! blade to get you through.

The sheath actually fits the 2 inch 5.11 gear belt I wear while shooting perfectly, consider me surprised

The sheaths clips were designed specifically for 2" belts, as well as molle. In the beginning, Guy had a list of requirements. Kiah made it so.

Don't sell it. I've had to sell a lot of my knives to fund my dad's medical bills and the S!K's are the one's I miss most. If you like it, keep it. Unless you absolutely have to get rid of it for some reason you will regret it later. That and the 5.0 will no longer be made. So it's not something you are going to just be able to pick up and if you do it will be at a premium.

I just got my Shipping notice on my GSO 5 second. I am excited to give it a try! I will have to order some more UKEs pretty soon.
