Don't want my green blade

Hey y'all. I received a ESEE-4 for Christmas. I have yet to use it because I am not sure if I like the green blade. I thought they came with black blades??? It is the orange G10 version.
What's up?

I think most if not all of the orange have a green blade.

I'd been casually poking around for orange with black and haven't seen any, though maybe they just sell out quickly.

Orange and green is common though.

G10 knives only have green blades. the only orange G10/black blades were the RP knife and the bladeforums junglas.

I've been away for a while, but if I recall the only 4's with orange AND black is the RAT Pack knives, that were a limited edition run I believe. Now I think you can get black blade with grey micarta, I believe tan blade with tan micarta, and well you know about the green blade .

If the color really bugs you that bad, you could alway remove the coating and then give, I'm assuming its still 1095, blade a patina to protect it from rust. Last I checked though the black blades don't cut any faster, deeper, or better than the green ones.

I jut saw one in the Exchange that has a black blade and orange handles. Still new.

the ad also says its a custom. most likely sporting the TKC handle scales.

the 4 comes in tan, green, or black blade.
the orange G10 only comes on the green blade.
you might email jforbush and see what he charges to strip and ceracote a blade, or post up on the exchange that you have an orange/green knife and want to trade for a black one.

Get some paint stripper from your local hardware store and take the green off of it if you don't like the color. From there let it ugly up with a natural patina. :thumbup:
