That's a good idea. I usually carry it separate, but could print a trail description on there. I love those, when they're accurate, because they describe what you're about to see, and should expect to see, and sometimes point out things you wouldn't notice.
I also highlight my route, mark mileage at different points, and depending on the scale, put directional arrows in the margins with brief notes about what is in each direction. That way if I ever get hopelessly lost in an unfamiliar area, at least I'll know the general direction to head in, and if hurt, you don't want to follow a roundabout trail for ten miles if there's a road a couple clicks off the map, either.
