:confused:I got a double bit Collins Axe head at a tag sale for a buck. There was a bit old sticker left that said "Homestead" or "Homesteader." Cleaned up pretty nice. My question is about sharpening. I noticed that one side and edge profile is thinner than the other side. Ive never used a double bit so I assume one side is sharpened different than the other.-----How is each side sharpened and what are they used for?--Thanx--KV

Nice find. I restored one that had the original handle on it. I think mine is called a cruiser double bit axe. Some what of a thin delicate handle with beautiful lines. About the size of a youth axe but a double bit. I need to make a sheath for it. I'm still thinking about that one. Had to run out to the garage to see it. I couldn't find anything about it other that Homestead was in the metal. No maker.

Great find and for a buck what a deal..Lets see some pic's when you get her handled.
