Double Cut ?

I just sealed a deal for my last piece of INFI for awhile, but it's going straight from the seller to Ban so who knows when I'll see it. On top of that, I'm waiting impatiently for my TigerWarden and Leatherma Charge which have been gone for a good while awaiting kydex work. I know how ya feel waitin' on the post man. Every day when I pull up to my house I get that little burn in my gut hoping there'll be a little package in my mailbox.

Just today I saw a UPS sticker on the door and almost had a conniption. Then I looked at it and realized it was for my wife's replacement sidekick. Ugh.

As for DCBB blades, I'm kinda stuck on satin. Every Busse I own has a satin blade, and I love them. The Cultie has a nice patina on it from carving up beef, pork, and whatever else finds itself on the grill, plate or in the stove.

DC doesn't look bad, but there's just something to me about satin, not to mention that down here in Miami, humidity is a bish. I don't even want to DEAL with DC after seeing what the humidity did to the stainless Kimber Pro TLE/RL II I used to own. Replaced that baby with a Glock 21sf and haven't had ANY rust issues. This place is toxic for metals.

I can go either way on satin vs DC.

I'm a bit worried what this summer will bring for my DC blades though, Windsor is the most southerly city in Canada and we are actually sitting along the banana belt, so our summers get VERY hot and humid. It costs too much to keep that central air on all summer long...

Yeh, you're definitely gonna want to keep those knives nice and lubricated. Just run a silicone gun cloth over them everyy 2-3 days and you should be fine. I also try to pack my rust-sensitive stuff away with the little silica-gel or dessicant packets that come in shoeboxes or bags. My MIL gets so many new purses I asked her to bring me all the little packets. Now I have a ziploc full of the little things. Pretty usefull. Keep one or two in the simplex Fort Knox pistol box on my nightstand.

HA, I've been collecting those as well. I've been planning on snatching up a Pelican case off that auction site for a few select blades, and tossing some of those packets in for good measure.

Man, just the other day I spent hours looking for the right Pelican case on their website. I couldn't find one that really fit my needs. If you find a good one for knives (not too deep, at least 17" wide) please let me know.
