I'd eventually like to send some work off for double disc grinding, is there anything I need to know?

Who does a great job?

Quantity - are small quantities acceptable?

Price?

Finish - what do I need to send off and what should I expect back?

Accuracy - what should I expect?

What I'm actually considering doing -
I'd like to eventually send off 30 Titanium Backspacers and 30 hardened (bevels not ground) steel blades (tool steel or stainless) for double disc grinding.

I'm hoping to have everything ground to spec for assembly. The backspacer is very long and I need to have everything parallel.

Thanks!

Daniel, the folks that I have talked to require at least 100 blades and the company that has been recommended the most, Larkin Precision, requires a minimum of 200 and i have been told by others that you may initially need to do 210-220 to get everything perfectly tuned the first time out. You will also need to add a setup charge like with any of these jobs.

Our company manufacturers double disc grinding wheels, we have a customer in North Hollywood CA that is good with short run grinding. Drees Grinding 818-764-8301.
