Double lugs question...

Hi all,

I'm still pretty new to CRK (only have a Startac Umnumzaan), and I've been interested in getting a Sebenza 21 for sometime, specifically the micarta inlay version (if it matters for my question). In looking at pictures, it seems the thumb lug on a Sebenza is pointier than on an Umnumzaan. So my question is...if I get double lugs on a Sebenza, do these have a tendency to snag on jeans when pulling it out of your pocket? I've had this issue with other thumb lug folders before, and it particularly annoys me on tip-up carry knives, but I'm thinking CRK has thought it through so as to make this a non-issue. However, my thinking is that since the basic Sebenza comes with a single-sided lug, maybe it is because double lugs have a tendency to snag?

Thanks for the help!

I never really had a problem with them, but some do. It's not a game changer to me...get 'em

Never had a problem with pocket snag myself. I'm pretty sure as long as your not into the whole skinny jeans thing you'll be fine. If you are into skinny jeans, rethink one or the other, I might suggest rethinking the jeans.

I've never had a problem with any of my double lugs, not even with the regular models i've had which have a weaker detent than the 21s.

I've even been in weird positions where my jeans are pinching the knife, and even when I pull it out hard by the lanyard it's never popped open.

Hahahahaha :P ...until Carhartt starts making skinny jeans, it will be carpenter jeans all the way for me!

Thanks everyone for the information. Sounds like double lugs will be okay. If anyone has a differing opinion, please chime in. :)

Never had a problem. I think the fact that they are pointed makes them even less susceptible to snagging than cylindric ones. And compared to other knives, the detent on the Sebenza is pretty strong.

My experiences with DLs is basically the same as those posted above.
