As many of you know, the forums have been double posting a lot lately. I suspect it is because Spark needs more servers, but I am not an IT guy, so I'll leave that to them.

I know it is going to happen when the little arrow spins way to long, and then the "Do you want to leave this page" pop-us opens. If you click "YES" , it will double post.

What I do now is when the question box opens, I click "NO". I then immediately click the "refresh" button/tab ( the "back" arrow button/tab also seems to work). If the window asking if I want to leave the page re-opens, I now click "YES", and it only will make a single post. So far this has worked every time.

While annoying to have to do several operations to end-run this problem, it is less annoying than having to edit the second post to read "Double Post".

I haven't had any issues with DP, but I def have noticed it. (I obviously don't post a ton.)

I am using Chrome...do you use IE?

I think it is my net here as I have it happen a bunch... will try what you said as it is slightly annoying.

I have noticed the "arrow spinning" on this forum a lot recently. Especially when I go to view the For Sale knives. After fairly trouble free surfing on this site, when I go to check out some of the for sale stuff....it will ALWAYS hang up on me. The "arrow will spin" for a good 60 seconds before the page loads. Sometimes I just close the window, reopen the forum, and it works as it should. Glad to know that others are experiencing this issue....and it's not just my system/network. Never really enough of an issue for me to complain about it, tho, so I haven't brought it up.

Anytime you get a hang, open a second tab to BF and check to see if your reply has been posted to the thread, for me it is always there, then close the first tab

Running a good piece of maintenance software like "advanced system care" will help too, its amazing how many registry errors accumulate when you don't use something like that ;0)

I suspect BF app is losing/dangling session state, probably Web Load Balancing config and or async post code are messed up.

Stacy's 'refresh' way works however with a chance of losing your post-in-progress. Try: click 'post/submit', ctrl+click (or click scroll wheel) to open thread new tab/window. After a couple seconds both tab shows your post.

My trick is to copy all text I have input before hitting refresh. So in case it's not posted, I simply repost.

This is especially troublesome if you're posting through mobile phone though.

figured I would put this up one more time because it seems people are double posting all over the place today

As soon as you see the "spinny thing" and nothing happens, minimize that window, then open a new window to blade forums ( you will now have two windows open and logged into BF twice) and you will see that your reply has been posted, then close the first window

I have had the spinny thing on all my posts today and by opening the second window and closing the first I have avoided making any double posts today... actually I have never made a double post here because I have been handling it this way for years ;0)
