Double Stud?

Has anyone put a double stud on their Seb. by themselves, or should I send mine in to CRK? Thanks.

I have done it to a small sebenza. I used the thumstud from a different folder beacuse I did not like the pointed thumbstud on the sebbie. I needed to make a round shim to make the thumbstud fit the hole in the blade snugly which is about 1/8" diameter.

Of course if you want the original design thumbstud but on both sides then I think CRK would be the only choice.

Steelfury---Thanks. Heather at CRK told me they would have to do it and then they would have to re-bead blast the knife. I wonder why. Forget that. I'll live with it.

if you have a regular sebbie they will have to remove a little bit of material on the backside. when i had my double thumbstud added, they removed the material and bead blasted the back of the blade.

they just charge you for the double thumb stud iirc. i had a lot of stuff done to my seb this past visit. i was amazed by how much work they did for free. things i didn't even ask for. :)

no installation fees or anything like that.

I've had CRK put dual thumblugs on several of my Sebenzas. I forget what it cost, but it was reasonable.

I say "go for it". The standard single thumbstud looks and feels lop-sided to me.

Thanks for the pic, biggerjon! I'm think'n I'm going to do that. How do you like it?

i love it. i can easily open and close the blade in my left hand. it only took about two minutes of practice to perfect.

But you need to be aware that the double thumblug will eat through your pockets pronto. So if you clip it to your pocket you may just want to stick with the single lug. I know because I thrashed a number of jeans before learning my lesson.;)

I think if the thumblugs weren't so pointed it wouldn't be an issue. The way the lugs are set up on the Um Num with them being more rounded and not protruding out of the frame will do the trick:thumbup:
