So I've owned pretty much every Becker available to the public and have recently become a bit consumed with the idea of a Doug Ritter RSK Mark II. I would love to hear any opinions on them. Im having a terrible time finding one and have never handled one. What do you guys think of it? Ive seen the below comparision picture and I really like some of the asthetics of the RSK. Plus I know everything Rowen turns out is top notch. Appreciate any opinions.

I really like the looks of it and the handle weights are intriguing to me,,, been on my want list :( I need a better job

If you cant find one KnifeWorks has some last I checked, under Doug Ritter's section

The Ritter is a Knifeworks exclusive--its the only place you can purchase one.

I guess I should have clarified with "used one" ;)

Anyone have any hands on experience with them?

I might be that the dearth of used RSK Mk2's is indicative that most folks who have one like it enough to keep it... :D

Everyone I know with one, won't part with it. Even Uncle WeirdBeard won't let me have his. Cheapskate. :D

uncle weird beard told me that all his knives are mine ;)

i've seen maybe eight for sale used? all at premium prices! geeez!

just buy one, new, and get it over with. actually, buy two. put one away, forget you have it. use the other one.

I HATE THE SHAPE. but thats just me. looks crazy weird to me. my opinion of course

I actually kinda like the blade shape, very practical shape in my eyes. Maybe I'll have to trade an ESEE for one ;). I'm a bit overloaded with them and one shouldn't have to have two of all of em right? Anyway, love to hear other thoughts.

I can see where you are coming from clich. I think it is the spear point blade and where the saber grind ends personally...

That said, I'd love to own one. I don't really care for swedges, and I really feel like this blade length is about perfect for all around carry and use.

I'd probably get rid of the lower guard though.

If you get one... post a review or at least some pics of it :).

I have one and really like it. It rotates with the BK10 for carry on my Manbag. It really fills the same role as the 10 though, I haven't figured out what one will do that the other won't. someday I'll get a second one.

I LOVE SPEAR POINT! But I also had the same first impression.

I plan to buy one this Winter sometime. If you haven't picked one up I'll post a review come first spring.

I figured I would follow up with this. My Doug Ritter RSK Mark II arrived today. I really like the design and feel of it. Handles very well.

I love mine. The fit and finish is of course more refined due to the fact Rowen made it. But the use of the old Camillus handles is disappointing. They stink. You will want to rob the Grivory from a current Becker or get micarta handles. I reprofiled the edge on mine. The best way for me to describe it is as a thinner version of the BK2. It will still baton through wood and do all your chores, but is lighter, and a little more head heavy for chopping.

I got #189. The blade itself seems really nice. Anything Rowen made seems to be top notch. A nice grind, razor sharp and a quality finish. The sheath was a little better then I had actually expected. She will have micarta on her by the end of the day ;)
