Doug Ritter VS. Mel Pardue (full-size) GRIPTILIAN - OWNER THOUGHTS?

Ritter grip M390 is a better slicer period. Add that to the rarity (discontinued), it is not surprsing that you would have to pay more ($60ish more than the retail price) to get one LNIB from the secondary market.

I've owned a few Mini Grips and Reg Grips with the Ritter blade and also one 556-1 with 20CV steel. As much as I like the idea of the Mini Grip in practice it was just a little too small of a knife for me. The Standard sized Ritter was a bit too bulky for my liking. I'd probably really like the KW Exclusive full sized Grip with the micarta grips, M390, etc. Meanwhile, I've sold all my Grips off and my small lightweight EDCs are now the 535 and also a couple of 940 variants. In addition to being lighter and slimmer than a Mini Grip, they have more blade length and full sized handles. I prefer them.

I have a 20CV custom shop 550 and two Ritters (and I'm not going to let any of them go). I like the high FG on the Ritters with decent belly for most tasks. I like the steeper flat grind, thumbhole, lowered point, and thicker point of the 20CV thumbhole 550 for other tasks. Another thing to keep in mind is that the 154CM thumb stud 550 is a HG, while the drop point and tanto are steep FG's. If I could only have one I'd probably choose the Ritter, but I'm much happier with the two versions I have.
