...in our memories.

Doug Castor was a mainstay of Bladeforums, and probably the first guy to 'friend' me here when I started hanging out.

I really didn't get to know him that well, but I heard today that he died, and felt that it was important to pay my respects to him here, in the C&H community- of which he was a part.

If you knew Doug, and have anything you'd like to share about him, please feel free to do so here.

I'm sorry to hear about this. My thoughts are with his friends and family.

I saw that elsewhere, and was immediately saddened.

I am another who was not a personal friend, but considered him a real asset here.

This is truly sad

I had no idea

Doug and I shared years of writing back and forth and a love of similar blades

I had been wondering where he was of late

Thank you Lorien for posting this

Thanks for letting us know, Lorien. Doug and I had much communication over the years. I've resisted adding anyone to my friends list who really wasn't, and Doug was, indeed.

Rest in peace, Doug.

Bob

I didn't know Doug nor did I communicate with him. Nevertheless, I am saddened by the news. I offer my sincerest sympathy to his family and friends.

I'm really sorry to hear this. DougC was always such a good presence here. He will be missed...

Oh that really sucks.

I liked DougC

Doug was one of my favorite guys, we shared a similar interests in knives. R.I.P., Doug, you'll be missed.

One of my oldest friends here on the forums. He helped me through many tough times.

Thoughts and prayers to his family.

Doug sent me casual PM's and always commented like he was MY personal friend.

I am certain he did that with EVERYONE. What a gift.

I will remain enriched above saddened.

Thanks Lorien.

Sad news indeed. I enjoyed Doug's comments and perspectives. My condolences to his family and friends.

Doug Castor was a Friend I never met, and there are damned few of those.

Deeply saddened to hear of his passing and smoke most solemnly sent to his family and other friends.

He was a Knife Person of the greatest magnitude, a passionate collector and appreciated the hard work and effort that makers put into their creations.

We will not see his like again, and for that, are lacking.

(Thank you for posting this Lorien, it is of great service to the BFC C&H community!)

Best Regards,

Steven Garsson

Doug was one of the first to people forward a "friend" request when I joined BladeForums. I always enjoyed his presence here and am saddened to hear of his passing. He will be missed. Mike

What a loss.....very saddened to hear this. We shared many stories over the years and, has been said by many, we had very similar interests in knives.

God Bless Doug, his loved ones, family, and friends....may he Rest In Peace. [emoji17]
