Took a fall last Saturday doing some work around the house and will be laid up for at least 3 months. Old pharts don't bounce well.
Right collar bone broken in two places, three cracked ribs, pulled right groin muscle, along with various bruises and swollen areas.
This is the first time I could sit up long enough to get on line.
The bad news, no income until I can go back to work. The good news, all outstanding orders are finished and ready to ship.
I can shuffle about, with the help of a walking stick, but the pulled groin is really slowing me a bit:D.
I'll be lurking around, but left finger typing is a bit slow. Being a glutton for punishment, I am trying to quit smoking. The bone Doc said it would help in healing. Should have done it many years ago anyway. Wish me luck!

Best of luck to you on the recovery from your injuries and smoking. Neither journey is likely to be pleasant, but I'm sure you're going to come through it just fine.

Sorry to hear about your situation. Those darn landings are tough on us old farts. Good luck with the tobacco habit. Its a hard one to stay away from even after you quit for several years. I'd quit smoking by starting to chew and vis versa. I'm still thinking the chewing is harder to quit. Guess thats why I'm still doing it. Here's wishing you a speedy recovery!

Sounds like you got alot packed into one fall, Mike! Well done. :(

I wish you a speedy recovery. I also wish you the best with quitting smoking. The gum helped me finally do it. After awhile, you'll be glad you quit.

Here's to a speedy recovery!
One thing puzzles me though... Usually when I pull my groin muscle it makes me go FASTER!...?:D
Cheer up!

Hope you recover quick and a 100%.........Stuart

This could be it, on the stop smoking thing. Since I know you hurt getting around, just tell your self its too much trouble to smoke and it hurts to inhale.

Hope you mend ok.

Fred

Sorry to hear it, thats a hell of a fall. Try the nicorette gum for the smoking thing. Lotsa guys I know had luck with it. Best of luck to you.

Damn that gravity! Take good care of yourself. In the meantime relax and keep positive- a good excuse for a time out from it all.

My mother had told me that whenever she asks me to pray for her, the prayer is always answered quickly. She says I must have a direct line to God. So, I'll say a prayer that you have a speedy and full recovery.

Mine did not do near as much damage as yours, at least I could type and sit up, but my broken ankle kept me out of work for 3 months also, At least I had taken out AFLAC, man was that a good decision. 80% of my income for the three months plus 6 wks of physical therapy. I wish you a speedy recovery and will be praying for you, old guys like me don't heal as quick as you young folks.

God Bless You,
James

Here's wishing you a speedy recovery!
It only hurts till the pain goes away, right? Besides with Ickie's prayers and Pope like status with the Man Upstairs, you'll be up and around in no time! :D -Matt-

Sorry about your spill,

Nathan, over in Mooresville.

Thanks for the prayers and good wishes. I just keep telling myself,"it's just another row to hoe" Looking on the bright side: I'm still alive.
Stuart, thanks for the kind offer, will keep it in mind. As to orders, that will be on indefinite hold. Have to keep my right arm in a sling and strapped to my chest till the shoulder is healed. I can barely feed myself left handed.:D
Who knows, in a few months I might even become amphibious.

Mike, recovering from injuries when we' re older is no darn picnic, been there, done that! You are so right when you try to feed yourself with the non dominant side. The real challenge comes when you try to do the sanitation bit after a trip to the John. That hurt my pride almost as much as the pain of the injuries. What part of NC do you hang your hat---is it near Franklin or thereabouts? I often take little jaunts around there and I could possibly drop in----and keep you away from the Marlboros!---------------Sandy Morrissey
