I've had mono for the past few weeks and haven't really done anything outside... this comes right as I'd been planning winter mountaineering, snowshoeing, x-country skiing, and alpine skiing. Well I finally got out for a bit today. I was looking for Bald Eagles, but there were none to be seen today.

The ice gets moved around by the tide, so at low tide, you end up with a super thin layer of ice several inches or feet over the ground:

Sometimes it clings to things:

Sorry for the bad pun.....

Those shots are beautiful!

All I can say is WOW. Many really cool shots there! I love the nets on the rigging and the flying cormorant!

Great pictures, thanks for sharing! It's cool to see how the ice forms and is shaped by different forces.

Yeah, the tree grew around what looks like a foundation post of some sort - large stones bonded with cement. It actually picked it up off the ground as it grew, or else the dirt underneath eroded away. The tree died some time ago and a 15ft or so stump remains.

Those are really beautiful and well done photos.
Thanks for sharing them with us.
Wishes for a fast and complete recovery.
