Down sleeping bag problem

I didn't find any mites. Of course, I only looked at a few feathers. I am not sure what I need for a sample size to effectively confirm or rule out their existence in that bag.

I really like that "2 pack" idea...one inside the other. That is so simple that I cannot believe I didn't think of it.

This GI bag is not really a "hiking" bag. It weighs over 10 lbs. It is meant for extreme foul weather when you aren't trekking all over the place...more of a base camp bag that stays put.

ok, how about this:

Sorry if I missed it but where are you planning to camp? In what temps? I got myself an Alps Mountaneering synthetic from an popular outdoor retailer for less than 50 bucks, rated to 20F, then I made myself a liner using some fleece blankets I bought from IKEA for 5 bucks each. Works like a charm.
