I picked up a small 31 yesterday from a local dealer. Couldn't be happier. I was all over the forum about to pull the trigger on 3 different CRK's and so I could get them in and see what I liked, then sell off what I didn't. Thankfully putting them in hand saved me a grand or so. I like the feel of the large in hand but for me I can't EDC such a thing. I kid you not I used to think my Bugout looked a bit menacing with it's good sized but thin blade. Then I clicked open (actually I didn't click much of them yesterday as they were all tight as all get out and almost required 2 hands to open and 2 surely to close.) a large 31 drop point and instantly said "Whoa that is a LOT of blade". On the way in I wanted the small Inkosi, thankfully after fondling large and small seb's and inkosi's I felt the small 31 pockets me well and doesn't annoy me when I stick my hand in my pocket. It didn't hurt that out the door I was at retail (current retail with a DOB in Sept '22) So home she came and ousted my 940-1 from my pocket.
What I do need to change is the pocket clip though. It sticks out way to much for a guy that wears thin layer shorts. I can feel my wife's SUV in the garage get nervous when I walk by to the garage door. I'm going to try to bend the tip down a bit or head down the aftermarket road.
As a machinist in a past life taking the SM31 apart, cleaning and putting it back together I'm very impressed with the craftmanship. She's a keeper.
