Like many on here, I've had my fair share of knives. Some cheap, some expensive, some outrageously expensive. I had knives dedicated to special tasks. I had an EDC rotation. I carried a backup or two on my person. But, I was never satisfied. I was always looking for the next knife, never enjoying what I already had.
So, I had the idea to sell my entire collection (small though it may be) and buy a new knife. One that i could start fresh on and learn to appreciate it the way a good tool should be. Selling my knives was harder than I expected. Even knives that I had never used, or even really liked, I found difficult to sell. I would try to convince myself that I should keep it, at least for a little while longer. Some sold like hot cakes. Some took a little while to move. But with each knife that passed from my hands, the easier it got to let go.
Now, I'm down to just one. It wasn't my favorite. It wasn't the most expensive. Like i said, i wanted to start from scratch on a new knife that I had never handled before. What did I choose?
It seems like it will make a good do-it-all knife. Just what I need when I only have one.
Has anyone else experimented with owning just one knife?
