Down Under Cover

Reminds me a bit of some of that "antique" bone that Case used for a few of those Bose collaborations. Beautiful stuff.

Not to get off of the subject on such a beautiful knife with a lot of history, but i've noticed recently by the talking with some fellow forumites and noticing the context in which Ray's last name has been used...that most people who admire Ray's work are actually mispronouncing his last name. It doesn't rhyme with lover...it rhymes with Dover.

Now it wouldn't be right to post without adding a picture would it:D

Here's a pic of my some of my Folding Hunters by Ray. The two larger ones on the left are 4 5/8" Closed, the other two are 4 1/8" closed.

And one of the larger ones by itself:

Move over Rover and send me that Cover!

:D :D I couldn't think of anything else, but Dover at the moment... I think you out done me with "Rover" but I still and givin' up my Cover...so move on over:D

Well, it was worth a try. ;)

As George Thorogood (and the Delaware Destroyers) would say, "...move it on over, slide it on over...there's a big dog movin' in..."

You've got one heck of a collection of Cover's Durwood. One of these days I'll shake one loose outta ya. :D

Outstanding photos.
Beautiful knife - the nicest one I have ever seen.
Dirk

I hope I'm not talking out of turn, but that knife came to me from a guy working in Nicaragua.

Thank you, durwood, for clearing up the pronunciation of Ray Covers family name as like the city of Dover in Southern England - I would never have expected this.
So I think his also successful knife-making son Jeff will be called C(D)over as well :D

I have always been a sucker for peer pressure so it is no surprise the mail lady just delivered this Ray Cover. ATS-34, front lock, about 4 1/2 inches closed, very nicely colored burl of some kind, about 13 years old I believe. Everything has the typical Cover attention to detail. I only have two issues with this knife. Ray forgot the nail nick and there is some kind of knobby thingamajig sticking out of the side of the blade.;)

Ray will be at Blade, the chances of getting one from him....pretty slim. Ray has been plagued with calls in the past few week from folks wanting to meet him to pick up knives and he will only have about 12 or so that aren't spoken for. The first couple of guys that see him will probably get them:D

Is there any way I could get ahold of him?? I will be at the blade from Thursday til Sunday..maybe I could get a shot at one??

Cover's work is soooo clean.

Great score, fewpop !

jivedaddy. . . .you suck ! :p :D

Ooouhhh it`s so hard NOT to be envious!!! ;) :D

The Cover`s do really make darn fine knives!
I`ve "only" ;) a Jeff Cover slippie but it`s as nice as his fathers` in my opinion!
