Some of you may have seen the postings a little while ago, but if not here's the deal. Scott Tanguay and Lamont Coombs are working together as Downeast Knife Company (http://www.downeastknife.com/) and producing a fixed blade called the Companion. I picked one up from them at the NCCA show this past Sunday.

The blade is D2 with heat treat and cryo treat by Paul Bos. Handles are canvas micarta. Sheath is kydex, and there were some there with nice leather from Treestump Leather.

The knife really feels great in hand. Very solid and nicely finished. Scott and Lamont were really great to chat with. After buying the knife they told me to give it some good hard use and I plan to do just that.

Ohhhh Yeah did you see the ORANGE handle there too ???? sweet knife !

Great meeting you guys at the show. Its nice to put a face with a name. Everyone we've met from BF has been really cool.
Thanks again,
Scott

Thanks for the pics and your take on the knife. Helped me to make the decision to get one.

these are really nice design if you haven't seen them in person dont miss the chance. Also I saw some designs lasered into the handles. I'm pretty sure they can do what ever youd like.

Hey... I'm the one who bough the Orange handled one, w/a nice Orange sheath... I'll try and get some pics of mine up as well.

Nice size/shape/grind for a user. I'll post some pics and reviews of mine whenever I get the chance.
