Downeast Knife Company Prototype is almost complete!

That looks awesome guys. I think it will be a real winner for you!

Hopefully. I love the look of checkered walnut grips. I have an Ek Commando knife with the most beautiful checkered grips on it. Got some on my 1911 as well.

Time is a consideration more than cost. After the East Windsor show, hopefully we'll be able to devote some time to it.
Thanks for the feedback!
Scott

Fabulous knife, love the design and the removable grips. I agree, options are the way to go. Good luck with your venture!

Nice update Shaman! I'm liking the looks of this partnership more and more. I think I will have to make it to the East Windsor show! I simply can't wait until March 30th to see this blade in person!

It is amazing how fast these guys put their skills together and put out an excellent prototype. I don't want to speak for Scott, but I do know that they have now moved into component production and procurement.

Still waiting on some of the component photos for people not as familiar with knives as most people here, but they are coming.

Thanks Shawn, The website is looking outstanding. Its up and taking orders! I tested it last night and everything worked just fine.

We hope to have the next four prototypes built and photographed by the end of next week, or early the following week. I'll get the pics up here as soon as they are done. The clock is ticking! The East Windsor show is Feb 3rd. Man, its coming fast!

Everybody is working diligently on their end. The material for the first 30 knives has been received. Great Lakes Waterjet has the D2 steel and the CAD files. I should be hearing from Dave very soon. Yesterday we tested the CNC program for the grips. I think we have it. We're currently making the attachment screws, and Chris is finishing up the prototype's sheaths.

I'll check in soon.

Hi guys,
I saw our buddy Chris Kravitt from Treestump Leather today. He had the first two of our leather sheaths completed. These were both black. He'll have two brown ones ready this Sunday. I wish I would've gotten a chance to get some pics of the knife in the sheath, but Lamont had to wisk the prototype knife away to the shop to check the fit of the grips as the CNC machine was cutting the first ones. We also got to watch a waterjet machine in operation today. Very cool! Busy day, but we're one step closer to having our four prototypes complete!
Thanks,
Scott
