Dozier Bushcraft Impressions

That doesn't look hollow ground to me.
At the NYC show back when the Bushcrafters first came out the Doziers had Scandi and Flat grinds on the table.
So I'd guess flat grind.
Might be convex.

Interesting that the handle will be changed.
Does that make my original more valuable?
:D
It's not like I'd sell it.

Very nice review Guyon. :thumbup::thumbup:

That knife is a Hollow gound, Bob has a fairly shallow hollow grind to his knives. He rarely does a Convex or flat on his knives except on his new camp knife. If you order anyone of his 30 or so hunting knives, they come standard hollow, convex or flat on order.
You guys can place an order with Kerry over there at Dozier, they are about 14-15 months out right now.

Sorry, but that doesn't look hollow ground to me.
I could be wrong though... Is it your knife?

These look hollow ground.

Well except for the fillet knife ;) But it is still a Dozier Made.

My Bushcraft is one of the first batch (AFAIK) and is scandi ground.

Here you can see the slight polished edge I was rambling on about earlier

I only have to wait 7 months to pick up another Dozier... They'll be back in NYC next November :D

Guyon,

Great review. I never sharpened it before I shipped it to you. I have been a Dozier fan a long time. I put the word in to Billy at Vintage Knives and he (somehow) bird dogged me a pair of these knives. Might give him a call and see what he can scrounge up for you.

That was a flat ground scandi blade also. No convex or concavity to the grind that I could discern when holding it personally. I will lay a flat edge on my pair tonight and check just out of curiosity.

I also agree with Guyon on the bite it would take into wood. If I had been able to do it, I believe the knife would have taken paper thin shavings. I really like the way it handled wood.

Ebbtide, I am pretty sure that is what Bob called the Deer Hunter. The knife came with a Hollow Grind, though that is not my knife, the picture could be deceptive on the contour of the grind. Who knows.... :-)
It looks pretty similar grind to this:

OKG, IDK :)

Mannlicher, the pricing is in line with Doziers other mid size blades... mid(ish) 200s...
Worth every penny:
