I've been playing around with a Dozier K2 (on loan). Plans are to use it this fall on (with luck) moose, bear, and caribou, or if we get really lucky, buffalo. First impressions: this is one of the most elegant, useful and well-put-together blades I've had the pleasure to come across. The D-2 steel seems to have a bite similar to VG10. It's large enough for serious chores like peeling a moose (although the micarta grip could be larger, but it is well-shaped nonetheless), but compact enough to carry conveniently. The horizontal sheath wouldn't be my first choice, but it holds the blade very securely and is quite unobtrusive. It's practically invisible under a sweater, and one day at the office I forgot I had it on my belt after I took the sweater off. Either the folks at the office didn't notice, or, this being the Yukon, wearing a belt knife is just considered normal. I saw the premier one day chatting with a guy in the Legislature building who was wearing a large skinning knife. No one so much as blinked.
