I own just one Dozier and it is a super knife. I feel that his knives were slightly underpriced before and now are right where they should be. More than anything, some knives are simply overpriced for what they offer compared to a Dozier.
However, the knife market is getting ever so competitive these days. There are some very good bladesmiths today offering a fabulous FORGED blade with upscale handle materials, superlative fit & finish and a tooled leather sheath for slightly over $200! Regardless of how well Doziers perform, they will never be in the same league as some of those select knives in terms of value, both now or in the future IMO and are getting aweful close in purchase price.
There are also just too many real good stock removal makers in the $150-$200 (or slightly higher) range that Bob will now be going head to head with. Just to name a few;
Scott Cook
GenO Denning
R.W. Clark
Trace Rinaldi
If you really want to experience value, check out the work of Gene Ingram. Absolutely killer blades in terms of fit & finish, performance and comfort. All for under $100! Get real.
Like I said, it's dog eat dog out there and there has never been a better time to buy knives.
