  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

DPx Gear HEAT/F by LionSteel

I agree -- the Heat feels great in the hand (well, my hand.)

It's surprising how much better it feels than the Techno, another favorite small chubby, just because the handle is a bit longer.

It even feels good in my pocket, although there are better alternatives for apple-cutting, one of my daily chores.

It opens smoothly but closing is still a bit of a chore, although not as much as with the Milspec I gave up on before it did more damage to my thumb.

This is my fourth LionSteel-made framelock and they all started out being difficult to close.
I like this brand but it needs to work on its tolerances.

I liked the looks of the HEAT a lot. But then I realized I have a Benchmade MPR (or 2) in my cabinet. So now I'm not sure if I need to invest in another stubby framelock of that size and considerable price.
