H.E.S.T. stands for: Hostile Environment Survival Tool
H.E.F.T. stands for: Hostile Environment Fighting Tool.
I bought these two knives years back (possibly 2012)
They both are done in Sleipner Steel.
I have used the 3inch version. It is a Hest 2 Assault with the black G10 scales and nylon sheath for hunting/camping and cardboard.
It hasn't seen too much use but was reprofiled and sharpened. It takes and holds an edge nicely. It is currently wearing a semi convex 20 degree edge.
Sleipner Steel is supposed to be an upgrade to D2 steel and I can attest to the eaiser sharpening and nicer edge holding qualities being a noticeable upgrade to typical production D2.
The brazilian santos hardwood scale version is absolutely unused and still wears the factory edge. Been in the safe all these years.
I will accept $160 for the assault shipped uninsured to the lower 48 United States
I will accept $175 for the woodsman shipped uninsured to the lower 48 United States.
