DPX Heat Elmax lock stick

I don't own the knife, but I'm curious how a 7/64 hex works on those. I've never seen fasteners that look like that, and they do indeed look like rivets. From the picture, there doesn't seem to be any angular surfaces inside the hole. Are they inset at the bottom?

I hadn't either. If you have the knife in person you can barely see how there's a hex shape within the hole. Its especially hard to see because of the black coating they have on the screws. Once they're out they look and operate like normal screws. I should've taken some pics while I had the knife apart. I cleaned out mine and lubed it up and adjusted my pivot. I also used my sharpmaker rod on the lcokup surfaces to smooth things out like suggested above. Deployment and lockup feel so much smoother now. Feels like a different knife.

Thanks for the info. I will have to check that out tonight. I would have sworn those were rivets.

Well, I was wrong. Those are screws. I was able to disassemble mine this weekend and clean it and oil it with Abu Garcia Reel Oil. Much smoother now.

Thanks for the tip, Tim.
