I debating between which two of these knives to purchase as an all around camp/utlity blade to matched with a folding saw and leatherman. Im also open to other options under around $120. Thanks

I have that DPx, I carried it with me hunting last year, built a few small fires with it. Didn't get a chance to skin any game out with it unfortunately. Haven't sharpened it yet, so far I really like it though.

The DPx is too fuggly looking to me and I don't like the grind on the blade. I've got an F1 and have absolutely no complaint. The convex grind cuts very well and the F1 is a very rugged knife.

I have that DPx...
It's got an asymmetric grind (just an FYI). It is quite comfortable in hand; but, in side by side use, I found it was outperformed by my Esee 4. I still like the knife quite a bit; but I hate the fold over sheath. (So much so that I cut off the flap.)
I can't comment on the Fallkniven - I have one that I took in trade; but I've never used it.
I'll second the BK16 recommendation.
*edited to add: Never mind - I just saw the part about wanting to go stainless.

Good to know about your stainless preference for this one.

Not too sure on pricing, but survive! Knives do many of their models in stainless, and cpm -3v (nearly stainless).

Also, the boker bushcraft xl is an option. Runs around $80, is made of 440c, and comes with what looks like a half decent sheath.

Johnson adventure blades "gamestalker" (made by kabar) is 440a, about $40.

Anyway, I have no personal experience with any of these, but are ones id consider if I was wanting a stainless knife of that size (other than fallkniven).

Good luck :).

I have an Esee 4 in 440C, it really needed TKC scales to compete with the DPx as far as feel goes. I think the Heft 4 may be tougher but the Esee feels better for actual cutting/slicing tasks. I have not actually put them head to head in the field though.

F1. Fallkniven's knives are amazing. I have the A1 and it is in a class by it self. They are knives built with purpose of function. Admittedly form is often pushed aside for function, but they do it amazingly well. Everything about the Fallkniven is well thought out. You might not see it at first, but after many hours of use you will find out exactly why every design decision was made over the time period of decades. (I am speaking from A1 experience.)
