As a piece of advice, what i'd suggest is you ask him for his email address in the thread. He can reply with the email address typed out like this:
john_doodles at gmail dot com
That way you both know what he means, but spammers and idiots and bots can't see the address easily and it doesn't put it out there for you to get junk mail sent to you. Or you can post yours in that fashion, and that way he can email you. Either way, it allows you to contact each other privately. He may not care, but i just know some people would really be upset by their home address being put on a public forum - especially when buying and selling things like knives and/or guns etc. I know this isn't a gun, but guns do seem to be sold on this forum in the gear section, so if it turned out he was someone who purchased a gun off someone, i could see even more reason for him to not want his address public.
Anyways, no harm no foul, just some advice to help you along. I notice that you are new to the exchange (or at least have 0 feedback?) so i figured i'd throw that out to help ya. Also visitor messages are another place that is at least a little more private than a thread - but i prefer to leave my email address in the way mentioned above so that you can be contacted by interested parties but your address doesn't become part of a spam-list
Take care
