Been noticing a lot of discussion comparing the HEST to Izulas, etc, and wanted to sort of give everyone an insight as to where everything is headed. ESEE will always maintain simpler, hard use knives since that's what we are known for. DPx is a separate brand (even though Rowen builds the HEST) and will be introducing a line of gear targeted more towards the hard core adventurer and tactical markets, some of this will be soft gear as well as knives, and could eventually include some specialized training programs based on our experiences in the survival market and Pelton's experience in traveling to Dangerous Places.

DPx will be distributed by our current dealers/distributor network and both lines (DPx and ESEE) will always be backed by the warranty and customer service that we're known for. Think of it this way: we have already broken Randall's Adventure & Training / ESEE into: 1) the standard ESEE line, 2) the Izula line and 3) the Junglas line (that also consists of soft goods) and 4) the training side. All of these fall under our parent coporation. DPx will be another branch off of that but in partnership with Robert Young Pelton.

Should be able to tell everyone more in the future since we are still nailing down some various details. Mike and I will be traveling out to Pelton's this month to nail down details and should have more information for you after that. Just know, that these are exciting times on what we have coming in the future, and customer satisfaction will always be our driving force as well as putting qualified tools in the hands of people that want or need them.

Awesome, I can't wait to see what you come out with next. A company that puts out blades and panties is capable of anything.

We were going to start an nline prostitution business but have to be in Nevada and the women we have lined up just wouldn't bring in enough money.

Interesting. To my mind, a sound business decision.

Of course, I'm just a scientist and engineer ... with hardly a scrap of business sense.:)

But that's neither here nor there.

The DPX line sounds interesting. Can't wait to see what you guys come up with.

A little birdie (with a big puffy moustache and a lust for dangerous places) showed me a ton of concept drawings for the DPX stuff last weekend.

A bunch of really cool designs and ideas.... But these chubby lips are sealed. (He said he'd kill me if I talked, and I believe him)

or what about a unique training experience for those who venture into dangerous places ;)

Yeah, but unfortunately Woodland Ops Course and Jungle Survival School doesn't completely encompass 'adventure travel'... cross-border travel, how to bribe and haggle and interact with locals that don't speak your language and don't abide by western culture social standards... "Adventure travel" is fast becoming a hobby, there's a big Adventure Travel sign in the North Face shop, and even the Outside Buyer's Guide had a section on it. There will be an influx of yuppies trying to reach corners of the earth not typically ventured by rich westerners, and an annual week or two week long class would be pretty sweet.
