Hi Kevin,
Thanks so much for your compliment. I originally didn't want to respond publically, but I think it maybe valuable to share here.
I posted an item in the "For sale by individual (Production knives)" forum, Kevin posted response, sent me a few emails, and sent me Paypal payment before receiving any response from me.
Before I knew anything, the payment was already in my Paypal account.
I'm flattered by kevin's trusting action. I sent the package the first thing next Monday, and sent Kevin the tracking/insurance information. The knife was delivered on Wednesday.
The only issue is. If there are multiple forumites doing the same thing like Kevin, I would have to notify/refund those who took the action late. In those situations, Paypal will collect 6% commissions for providing the services (3% for the payments and 3% for the refunds). The 6% commissions would be completely wasted because nothing have been accomplished in those cases.
To avoid that kind of waste, the only way is to confirm the deal with the seller before sending the payment.
