Dragon Forge Basilong for beginner

Is Dragon Forge comparable to the Jaguar Brand? Is the half-serrated or the plain edge, which is better for a beginner..?

Well, the general consensus seems to be the plain edge...less damage done when you screw up.

And unless you plan to be cutting some tough stuff, the serrated edge isn't really neccessary.
