hi folks.
so i bought a set of lscf scales for my df2. I have the g10 version but failed to mention this to the manufacturer. He made them for a FRN dragonfly2. I cant seem to get them together properly. Does anyone know what the difference is between them internally? If they're the same, ill take a breath and try again. If not ill just snag a frn and give my sister my g10 df2. I feel like the screws/pivots are a bit different and this is causing my problems. this is just a guess though.

thanks in advance

Who did you have do this? Because I want new handles for my FRN DF2. G10 version has washers, beyond that I don't know.

Isn't the handle on the FRN version a solid piece of FRN?

I think you're right, but I've never handled one. I saw one quick video online and it looks like it is. The guy taking it apart basicly pulled the guts out of the handle after removing the pins.

There are some differences in hole spacing and lockbar fit that make them incompatible. I discovered this when I tried to put a hap40 blade in my Nishijin dragonfly. Either the lockbar wouldn't engage or there would be significant play depending on which I tried to use. When I inquired about custom Cuscadi scales they specifically asked me if I had the FRN or G10 version.

Ahhhh
There you go. Thanks for the info. I'll track down either a hap40 or a vg10 frn df2. Love the vg10 for easy maintenance.

I have the FRN H1 Salt version DF2 and it only has holes for the pivot, lock bar pivot, and wire clip. Those scales show a 4th hole that my FRN DF2 does not have a pin for.

I see. when the scales arrived today there was a screw/pin keeping the scales together. since i have the g10 df2, i assumed it was a spare. I guess the frn only has the 3, so cuscadi supplied the 4th.

So it wouldn't be a straightforward swap for my ZDP Dragonfly 2 into a G10 handle? I've been meaning to do something like that.

i guess not. Seems weird that you couldn't do a blade for blade swap, keeping all other components of the knives together.
50am6xy67ggg seems to have tried and said it didn't work.

You can get the ZDP blade from a Nishijin dragonfly, which should be compatible with the G-10. But at that point you should just get nicer custom scales since you already have the lines.

I have blade swapped 3-4 FRN Dfly blades into the SS linered versions (G10, Nishijin, etc) with zero problem. I have a Super Blue in my Nishijin, HAP40 in my G10, and ZDP-189 in a Ketchen Koa modified set.

You will not be able to mount FRN-designed Cuscadi scales onto a G10 frame, just buy a FRN Dfly to put them on or sell them!
