That blade could be re-profiled into a Wharncliffe style blade. By doing a Wharncliffe it would probably keep the blade tip from sticking out of the liner as well.
I think it would look nice & work well.

If you left it the way it is, you could use it to open paint cans, which is probably how it was broken in the first place. ;)
