Dream knife wanted

I already suggested to the folks at EDMF that they look at the Welsh knife, waiting to hear back. I ordered a D guard Bowie from them and I'm looking forward to it.
Robert Hankins is a good maker who might be interested in making one- he's a good grinder and likes making big knives (I have his Bear Slayer camp knife).

Hi
I have a custom short sword I would like to have made. It has been looked at by hammer and anvil types who insisted it would be easy to cut out with a cnc but difficult to forge by hand.
I want a copy or unfinished copy of the WW1 DeWalden Welsh Fusiliers Trench Knife.
I have included some drawings with measurements.
I am willing to pay up to 600$ for this piece.
It can be tool steel, high carbon steel, no special materials are requested.
Please let me know if this sounds like something you could/would be interested in doing for me.

Good Morning Danny,
An interesting little carver to say the least.
You have found the guy who can do it, I take all the orders the other guys don't want.hehe
First of all, I specialize in cable damascus, and basically all I forge.
The ridge in the center is the hardest part, it is not flat.
I will have to make special dies for that.
I already have the dies for the shape, that is not a problem, just have to out-think that ridge.
I also need dimensions on the print to be accurate.
It will take at least three months to make and I need to know "how" you want to receive it.
As forged condition means right out of the forge, you do the grinding.
Rough ground(36 grit) means you just polish it up.
Finished blade means that you just mount the handle and guard, the blade is ready.
The condition you get it governs the price quoted.(my time involved).
If you would like to see this blade come to life in a light grained damascus, I'm your man.
I already know it will be difficult, but I take these kinds of challenges to improve myself too.
Accepting these kinds of challenges keeps me on top of the game, so to speak.
Look forward to hearing from you.
God bless you and yours.
Gene
