Dream Knife

:thumbup: Mine would be a n/s bolstered c-lector buck 110.

It would have sambar stag handles,with n/s rivets,drop point,skinner,serrated clip and saw blades,each crafted of either s-30v or bg-42........bos heat treat and each blade signed by Chuck Buck!.........what a dream!:thumbup:

I have dreamed of this knife for years.LOL

Yeah I guess so. Its actually quite a compliment that my knife is popular..ok only mine would be unique. Cos mine would have "Maverick" on the blade.

But I take that my knife makeup is common amongst many people who know a heckuva lot more about Buck knives than I do.

Just checked my email records; I received the Confirmation and order number from Buck on 24 Dec 06...the Shipping Update came on 12 Feb 07...there is no "tracking number", although the invoice says it shipped UPS... :confused:

Anyways, it ain't here yet... :rolleyes:

When/if it comes, I'll post a pic here in this thread..."Maverick's Dream Knife"... :D
 
UPS eh? I always like my stuff shipped US Priority. Seems like US Priority takes about 1/2 the time that UPS does. Oh well!

Did they bill your credit card right away? Or do they wait until they fulfill your order?

Can't wait for some pics!

I also like USPS. In fact, my Buck Warranty/110 reblade came USPS. :confused:

Did they bill your credit card right away? Or do they wait until they fulfill your order?

Well!!! Maverick's Dream Knife arrived today, by UPS as noted in the Buck email.

Here's a [bad] pic...(below)...

Some observations...

The smooth Water Buffalo is very nice; there are some flecks of white in the scales, but you really have to look for them...the Nickel Silver bolsters came out nice...the blade shows the recent Custom Shop length of 3 5/8" instead of the 420HC length of 3 3/4"...the edge bevel on one side of the blade is constant throughout its length; on the other side, the bevel widens as it approaches the tip...to approximately twice the width the bevel has at the tang... :eek:

It is a real bear to close - the rockerbar is really under a lot more tension than any other of my 110's...

Blade is centered in open and closed positions; and does not "sit proud"...the rockerbar does not protrude in either position, as someone in another thread commented on their 110...rear bolster pins are quite visible on one side, but not on the other...not protruding or sunken, just darker...kinda odd...

The blade has that satin finish that I've come to love...fit between blade and rockerbar when extended is not as good as on my 426 drop-point Bucklites, but better than my Bass Pro CPM 154...almost the equal of a production [Wal-Mart/K-Mart] 420HC 110...

On a scale of 1 to 10 I'd give it an 8.5... :D :thumbup:
 
Nice knife Trax. :thumbup: I prefer the buffalo scales with the grooves. Here's one I got last year for my annual gift to myself. :D I actually like the white imperfections in the scales.
 
My next dream knife would be a 110 with a damascus blade, brass bolsters, jigged Asian Water Buffalo handle, with probably just my initials engraved in the front bolster so as to not offend Buckaholic.

Today is 19 Feb...so that's ummmm...57 days...just over 8 weeks...

Not bad...and 8.5 isn't bad in my book either...the finest woman I ever knew was only a 9.5... :) :thumbup:
