Dream Revolver

I own my dream revolver. It took a while to get my hands on one. It's a Smith & Wesson Model 25 in .45 Colt with a 4-inch barrel. It's sweet.

I once had a mateba .44 magnum. It's a semi-automatic revolver. Uses the recoil to rotate the cylinder to a fresh round and to recock the hammer. Shoots from the six o'clock chamber. I beleve it was made in Italy. Also had a nice muzzle break, and nice black finish as well as a very comforable handle. The guys at the shooting range used to drool of that thing. I was told that they were the most successful semi-auto revolver produced. But I don't think they still make em, so I don't know. I also used to have a colt python with a six inch ported barrel and it was a hell of a revolver too. I want to say it had a nickel finish. Both of them were awsome pistols, but the mateba was really, really cool.

i have three dream revolvers and all of them are single actions...

I think I'd have to second the Bowen. Either an Alpine or a Kodiak.

I have mine as well, a Smith and Wesson 625 5". It will shoot 45ACP, 45 Auto Rim, 45 Super, 451 Detonics, and 460 Rowland. This allows me to shoot light little plinking loads up to my hammer, a 230 grain JHP launched at 1340fps. (185 JHPs go out at over 1500fps) The use of full moon clips means the fastest reloads possible and it carries very well in a Kramer Cross Draw.

I've got 2 of my dream revolvers and plan to keep them for a change
1. smith and wesson model 64 round butt, 4"
2. smith and wesson model 640
the only thing i need now to die a happy man, in the revolver dept, is a 2" model 64 and an older model 60 in 2". as you can tell i have simple tastes.

I just bought this, have not even picked it up yet, get it tomorrow. I as close as I will probably get to a Freedom arms 454 Casull, and way cheaper.

I also got a holster, gun rug, 180 rounds of Dan Wesson ammo and dies.

I bought mine in 2001 -- a 1973 6" barreled blued python... Here is the rub though, I bought it used, in the case were 2 -- the 6" and a rare 8" .38 special target model -- both had belonged to some old timer who had passed away. I regret not just ponying up for both to this day -- 700.00 for the 6, 800.00 for the .38 -- both in *mint* condition.
I don't shoot it very often, I mainly just like to look at it.

Now I am coveting something from Bowen -- likely a 5 shot Bisley 45 Colt conversion of some sort -- with turnbull coloring, rough country sights etc. I might just buy a new Bisley to send off to them. Bowen's make me weak in the knees. I put a set of Bowen adjustables on my current Bisley.

Gary Reeder African Hunter in 500 Linebaugh. It was polished and engraved to show around at SHOT some years ago. I got lucky and bought it just after it finished its promotional work at SHOT.

Yes they are nice but I still want a Bowman Alpine in 4", maybe with a day glo front sight for woods use.

Here's my own 25-5 in 4" mode.

I'm glad to see this thread because for me this will be the "Summer of Bang." I intend to get a larger handgun, most likely a revolver, most likely used rather than new. I currently have a Ramline Exactor .22 auto (I hate it, but it was a birthday gift many years ago), and want something far better and more serious.

I want a holy grail that will be fun and fairly cheap to shoot recreationally, durable/reliable, but also suitable for protection at home if needed. Concealed carry is less important now, but that maybe something to consider for the future.

Here's what I'm considering, and I'd love some feedback from experienced pistoleros:

Ruger Blackhawk .357 convertible (I love SA's, and this has versatility)

Ruger SP100 or 101 (because of this thread)

Browning or Charles Daly Hi Power (not a wheel gun, but . . .)

Lastly, maybe a Ruger Single Six for fun and a snubby .357 for protection (if I could get the pair cheaply).

Smith & Wesson Model 686 4"barrel .357mag:thumbup:

I own one & shoot it as often as possible.IMO the most comfortable & accurate revolver I've ever fired.

As you can probably tell by my name & previous posts .357mag is my favorite caliber.I also have a couple old single action .45 long colts that are fun to shoot.
