Dreaming of a knife I wish Buck would make…

Out working today and I was thinking about knives and I had a thought come to mind. Probably pure insanity on my part but I want to get y’all’s take on it.

I wish Buck would make a Congress pattern. Sway back. Like take the 301 and make it similar to it but a 4 bladed Congress knife. I’m imagining two sheep foot blades, a pen blade, and a coping blade or some variation thereof. You know how the newer version 301 has a back spring for each blade so they’re all real easy to open? Do that for the Congress. 4 back springs for 4 blades. All stainless and the black handles of the 300 line. Pure 300 series Buck knife but a Congress pattern. Maybe 4 back springs would be too thick of a knife though? Might be best to put in two back springs and have a blade on each end of the two back springs like other Congress knives? I’ve seen the 301 called a Sherman Tank of a pocket knife in some threads here on Bladeforums. I reckon my imaginary 300 series Buck Congress could be called the M60 Patton Tank of a pocket knife!

Might be a total disaster from a business standpoint, I know nothing about marketing or business. Do y’all think this would be a good seller or a total flop?

*Sigh
These are the kind of thoughts I have when I forget to take my Blood Pressure pill and my daily dose of NSAIDS before work.

I like the idea of a congress, but I don't like the idea of duplicating blades. Even a sheep foot and coping blade are to close to the same for my taste. If I was designing such a knife. It would be 3 1/2 to 4 inches long closed. Have two springs. The first would have a full length clip point blade, with a fine pen blade on the opposite end, tucked in beside it. The second spring would have a sheep foot on one end and a spey blade on the other. The blades would be full flat ground, with a thickness at the spine of 1/16 inch, or less for some of the secondary blades. Because the blades would be thin and slicy, they would need a steel with good toughness. Magnacut would be my first choice, but Buck's 420HC would work well too.

I have no idea how it would sell. I doubt we will ever find out.

O.B.

I'd love to see it. With stag handle options and a flat grind on all the blades like the old school early in-house Buck 300 series.

I'd like to see the 446 Goliath revived in two models; a Slim Select/Pro, and a Classic.

The Slims would make a solid EDC, especially these days with large folders basically being the norm.

The "Classic", for lack of a better term, would give the 446 the classic treatment of the solid brass and ebony grip we all love so much. Would be ridiculously chunky and heavy, so I'd be willing to replace this with a 446 Goliath Sport model with aluminum and micarta. Or all of the above.

Never gonna happen, I know. But I still think it's a model that could make a viable comeback.

I'd be all for this as well. Could you imagine how slick a Slim Select Goliath would be?

A model I’ve never heard of before. I’m going to have to locate one of these as well!

Slip joint 501...
That's what I like about the 704 maverick, it's like a slipjoint version of one of their small lockbacks. Say the 055 or 503.

I have nothing against lockbacks but don't really need a locking blade, and I appreciate being able to just close the knife without having to slide back and press the lock bar.
