After years in the field working as an electrician, wearing bibs and carring a barlow and large folder , I find myself in a position where I have to start wearing dress clothes. Now I need a dress knife for these occasions. I've narrowed it down to three a Mini Copperlock Natural Bone, a Trapperlock Goldenrod and a Russlock Gray Bone. So i've decided to let you great guiys pick it for me so please vote in the poll. I will leave the poll open till next Friday. If you let to pick something different please post your opinion.
THANKS

I voted other simply because I think you would like the CV steel better. If you like the Trapperlock you can get it in Amber bone in CV (6154L CV), or the Russlock in dark red bone in CV. So I say the patterns are good...just need to change colors...and steel!

Of the choices you listed, I would go with the MCL. The knife has a great feel in hand, and is small enough to be easy in the pocket...

Other than the ones you listed, I would think about a Case Mini Trapper.
IMHO its a knife that thinks its bigger than it is. Feels great in hand, almost disappears in pocket and has half stops. A lot of folks will probably suggest a stockman pattern and there is nothing wrong with them at all.

Having big hands, I like a stockman that is a little bigger. Like a Case 6375 or Schrade Walden 881. I never use to be a big fan of stockman patterns, because I never felt the need for 3 blade choices, and liked the simplicity of two blades. However, I've been carrying a vintage Schrade Walden 881 for some time now, and I don't have any reason to change.

Don't worry about making the perfect choice, because after you get this knife, you will already be looking for the next :D

I voted "Other".

I think the GEC #25 Pattern Wharncliffe Jack Knives would be a good choice for your purposes. They come with either a single Wharncliffe blade or a Wharncliffe blade and a small Clip blade. There are several slab selections available.

Here are the two that I have -- One in Tortoise Shell the other in Arrowhead Bone. The Wharncliffe blade on both knives is 2 1/8" long.

I picked the Russ 'cuz I like the pattern AND the color. Grey is very classy in my opinion. Three good options, and I think you will see some very cool suggestions.

It seems that the choice of "other" has gotten more votes, so I guess I'll post up a few pics of the knives I suggested in my earlier post..
Its hard to recommend a particular knife because everyones tastes are different.
So many choices and none of them are wrong....

Vintage Schrade Walden 881. Been carrying this one for awhile now...

Hi,

I voted for "Other" also. For a more dressy situation I like smaller slippies. The GEC #25 is a great size and built like a tank. I adore my Barlow on that frame.

I also like my Queen D2 Whittler. Thinner than my GEC Barlow, and very elegant with the jigged bone stag.

I don't know, I guess you'll just have to buy one for every occasion.
