Dalee, a guy I work with has an unXeld barlow in bacote wood. Youre right, a small knife that's a tank.

+1 for the peanut. Love how small and light it is in khakis or dress pants.

It's just a classy knife.

I voted for the russlock because it was one of your choices plus its a great dress knife IMHO. Best of luck with your search. After you get one you'll probably want more any way. :)

From your choices I opted for the Mini Copperlock. It's slim and a very good pocket knife in suit trousers or jacket, well anywhere! Plenty of blade, a good lock and lightweight,un-menacing too.

I've heard rather a lot of stories about frequent blade play in the Trapperlock so I would be wary of it.Don't have one of my own though.

As an alternative, a Slimline Trapper or Queen Cutlery's Utility knife is another slim knife that is worth looking into.

Here's my dress knife.....slim.

+1

Or

A Queen 3 1/4" Stockman in D2 in bone or wood
Small but a lot of blade

GEC 3" single bladed Barlow
Small but a solid cutter

I will also agree with coop1957 as the texas jack is a great edc and it's good look'in to boot.

Of the three you listed I like the mini copperlock the best. I voted other though and would recommend a Queen serpentine jack in amber stag bone. I just picked up a canoe in that handle material and have been very impressed with the D2 after sharpening it.

Or if you want to get really dressy you could pick up a Case peanut or swayback with raindrop damascus.:D

I voted Trapper Lock because I am really wanting one, just havent pulled the trigger on one yet.

I picked "other". When I have to dress up for a special occasion, I carry one of my crk mnandi. They fit the bill nicely.

I find myself in a position where I have to start wearing dress clothes. Now I need a dress knife for these occasions. I've narrowed it down to three a Mini Copperlock Natural Bone, a Trapperlock Goldenrod and a Russlock Gray Bone. So i've decided to let you great guiys pick it for me so please vote in the poll.

I voted for the mini copperlock. Having working in a corporate office and wearing the dreaded slacks and tie for 5 years ("the dark years," I call them), I can tell you that A) a Trapperlock or Russlock are just too big to carry comfortably in dress pants, B) a small knife will be a lot more handy in that environment and C) a large folder is likely to earn you quizzical looks (at best) from sheeple colleagues, whereas a small traditional folder will likely earn you smiles and nice conversations.

Honestly, your best bet would be a Case peanut or Swayback jack. During the dark years, I spent a lot of time carrying a little, two-blade Buck 709 and it did every job I needed doing.

Of the three you listed, I would go for the Mini Copperlock. But, I voted other. I work in a suit environment and often carry either a Canal Street Canittler or Canal Street Half Moon Pie. Today, it is the Half Moon Pie Trapper in cocobolo.

I vote for whatever is thinnest. I wear a suit at work and anything that "prints" in the pocket even when sitting is IMO inappropriate. I usually carry a single blade Alsdorf Jack in a slip case. The slip case is primarily to keep the knife vertical in the pocket.
