I am using a #53 carbide drilling thru titanium liners .054. They keep breaking. What speed should I run the drill press at? I am also using oil on bit. Any advice would be welcome.

While carbide drills are very handy to have around, I do most of my hole drilling with cobalt HSS twist drills. I run the small sizes #55-#32 at around 750rpm in .063-.130" Ti. All the small carbide drills I use are straight flute. I don't usually need any oil for the cobalt or carbide drills under these conditions. If it stops cutting, it is dull and you should just toss it (unless you like sharpening tiny drills).
