Hey everybody, Resently I've been working with some 154CM steel which seems to be a good steel for my porposes of Knife making. However when Im useing my drill press it seems that my drill bits havent been holding up in sharpness, durring extensive use, So what kind of Drill Bits do you use? Recently I've been useing so call "Titanium Coated" drill bits just from Tractor Supply Company. I've been considering getting Kobalt Coated drill bits but I wanted to see what you guy's would recomend.

Get some Cobalt bits. But good ones. Not from the local hobby shop or anything. I recently bought a set of bits from the local store that supplies mainly to professionals (plumbers, benchworkers etc) and that changed my life drilling wise.

Never going back again.

It's a matter of buy expensive....cry less. Don't skimp on tools.

I use screw machine length cobalt bits from Enco. The shorter bits will flex less and give truer holes.Buy just the sizes you use and get several of each.
