Drill presses

I came across these two drill presses on a local classifieds listing. One floor model and one bench top. The floor model duracraft is missing the table, so I’d need to find one to make it usable. He said he just got a new chuck for it though. He said that both run well and is firm at $150 for the pair. I don’t know what a good price would be, so any help would be great. He also said he would sell them seperate if he had to. Thanks, Brady

I hope the pictures loaded...

Fwiw, they are cheapo Chineesium machines... While they might run,
Should check out carefully for bearing runout, wear & tear etc. they may be more trouble than worth.

Bet they have in the thousands of hrs. BUT, I would do it, can you use the bench top table on the floor model??

That was my main concern... I’m going to take a look at them tomorrow to hopefully get a better idea

check what basic bench top drill presses from Skil or Craftsman are selling for. especially now with black friday coming, you should find one on sale for about $100

If you wanted something used, I'd wait for an old delta, powermatic, clausing, Rockwell, ect
The last delta I bought (1940s vintage) was $25

These old drill presses are always on Craigslist or other classifieds sites. I wouldn’t buy it without a table. You can find them cheap with tables all the time.
My benchtops were like $50-$75 in almost brand new condition and the floor model was maybe $10-$20 more. I’d pass on the floor model.

I ended up holding out. I’ll keep searching the classifieds and auctions and I’m sure I’ll come across something a little better. I asked what he needed for just the bench top and it was high. Thanks for all the input!
