Drilling a Detent Hole

I've got a Kershaw assisted knife that does not have a detent hole. I'd like to drill one to de-assist it. I have a drill bit that is the right size and will go through the blade from converting my Boker Top Lock to an auto some time ago. I just need to know the best way to find the right spot for the hole. Can someone help me out with the best way to do that?

I would guess there is a detent ball and it would make a mark on the blade under the handles. The hole would go where the line stops when the knife is closed. Just a guess though, I have never done it. I too do not like assisted opening knives. Good luck!

Thanks. Yeah, the Kershaw Piston is pretty much perfect for me except for the assist.

for a 1/16th detent ball, you need a #54 for the lockbar, a #53 for the blade. I don't know anything about that knife model you mentioned. But that is the standard detent I use
