I clicked on the post because I thought it said something else. ;) Beautiful knife and gorgeous sheath though.

That grain work on the sheath is amazing! it makes it appear as if it is wood!

great work all around!

Great looking knife.

Interesting , never heard of either wood , appears Shittum is Acacia. ?

Right ?

However it is , that is good looking wood.

I mis spelled the word, it is spelled shittim wood. It was spoken of in the bible. The bible states that parts of the ark of the covenant were made of this particular wood. Thanks for your interest. My pics does not do the wood or blade justice. Mike

I'm so glad you bought this knife! It's been gnawing at me since I saw it... Great work and what an awesome price!

If you haven't already, everyone should check out Mr. Wilson's website. I hope to be a little heavier in the pocket next time you have blades available!

If something happens, I would like to be second on this knife. I already regret not pulling the trigger on it!

Sounds like an expensive boat!

nice knife, i like the guard.

Wow! I could buy the knife just for the handle :) Beautiful wood and that shape looks like it would be very nice in the hand

Yup, mike's one kick@ss knifemaker... he's made me one of the prettiest folders I've ever seen and also a drop point, both I consider treasures.

go Mike! :)

FWIW, shittim is the plural of the Hebrew word shittah, which means acacia tree. The place "Shittim" mentioned in the Bible is also called Abel-Shittim ,which means 'the place of the acacia', or just 'acacia grove'. Lilah tov, haverim.

Thanks for all the good comments.
WINMAGfrog I am going to post another just like this one except different handle material in the next couple of days. Mike

just got home from driving down to Washington state (in biggest snow storm of winter so far) to pick up this knife.
well it's every bit as attractive as pics. suggest. the smokewood is really beautiful, with a lot of life, even some red in it. and the decorative handle pins, a nice classy touch. but best of all, it fits my hand the best of my 4 custom FB Hunters, perfectly, and my thumb rests naturally on the spine, just above the guard, giving perfect tip control.
no bull Mike, you make an incredible knife. in the time it's taken to type this (includes frequent pauses to hold the knife in my right hand, i can't not pick it up), it has become my favorite fixed blade. and at 1/2 to 1/3 the price of the other customs. so, gunna go carve the air a bunch now. thank you.
p.s. now that i have mine, you really could charge quite a bit more ! roland
i hope my enthusiasm comes through; this is totally awesome., i'm havin' a Great Day !

oops, knife has me so excited i forgot to say that the sheath is right on too; sturdy, snug fit, good lookin'. my lucky day ! roland

Very nice......but what say we just call it "smokewood" lol
