Thanks man. Have had that planned for many years now, and just never did it. I sure do wish I had a shop. I have other projects I'd like to do as well, that have nothing to do with knives.

unless you etch then really deep and with sharp shoulders, I doubt it'd add any appreciable drag.

Good point. I was gonna etch them in, then add a patina, hoping the patina in the etch would stay darker, to make it pop. Or, gun blue the blade, polish it off, leaving the blue in the etch, then adding a patina to the rest.

Patina would make it really pop. Just wipe off the raised surfaces shortly after and it should stay dark in the recessed areas. Would look phenomenal.
