This knife features a forged 52100 drop point blade with a full height, 12” hollow grind and green canvas Micarta handle. Rabbetted tang construction with nickel silver Corby bolt and SS thong tube. 4” blade length, 8-1/4” overall length. Blade is 1” high at dropped edge, and 3/16” thick at the spine. Hand rubbed to 600 grit. Balance is right behind the front of the scales, at the first finger.

I made this knife as sort of a “chore-boy” model. It’s just got an all around useful type of profile, for cutting whatever gets in your way out there. It would whittle, cut food, cut rope, cut flowers for your sweetie etc., equally well. It’s slim and ergonomic, compact and discreet. Backpackers, this knife is light and tough… The steel has been triple quenched, double tempered, then soft back drawn for maximum performance.

This would also be a nice knife for a lady. The grip fits a smaller hand nicely and overall it’s very lightweight.

Shipped with a razor sharp mirror edge.

$165 U.S. Asking price.
SOLD.

Price includes shipping to 50 states. I will ship around the world; I just ask that in this case the buyer pay the added shipping costs. Included in price as well is a molded pouch type sheath made of premium veg-tanned 8-10 oz. horse leather. Specify RH or LH sheath, natural or black finish.

I make knives to the best of my ability and knowledge. I research to find the best materials and methods to use, in order to provide the very best product, in terms of value, durability, performance, and aesthetics. Should you find a knife you have bought from me to be lacking in any of these respects, you may ship it back to me at my expense for a full money-back return.

Should a knife purchased from me fail in materials or workmanship, please ship it back to me at my own expense for your money back in full, or repairs at no cost. It’s your choice.
I will sharpen any of my knives at no cost; however I do ask that you pay for shipping costs for this service.

I am always pleased to hear from any of my customers, past, repeat, potential, or otherwise. Please go to my web site, see "Contact Me" and give me a call. If you have any questions regarding these policies, I'd like to hear them.

Also, if this knife or any other I have made that you have seen looks close to something you would like, or if you would like to talk about an entirely different knife design altogether, please contact me, I do custom orders as well and always enjoy talking about knife designs, whether or not we actually end up doing business.

I can't be taking this one just now, but I'm bookmarking for later. Perfect little knife – another Salem Straub piece of art.

Dude, I was in the shower when it got taken. The water quit on me with shampoo in my hair, had to hike 1/4 mile in the snow down to fix the pressure switch before finishing. What a PAIN.

Thanks for the comment.

Man, what a great little knife. I've never bought a knife from another maker here before, but had this not already sold I'm not sure I could have resisted the temptation. That's a lot of knife for what you're asking for it. It looks very well done.

Salem, that is just beautiful work man.

Your rabbet work at the front of the scales is so clean it looks like the blade grew out of the handle.

I'm curious, did you put a brown/natural Micarta spacer between the halves, or is that just an optical illusion? Either way, I dig it brother.

Really, thank you all. I'm glad you've taken the time to look at my work. Nope, that's not a brown spacer in there- it's just a tint line in the phenolic paralleling the surface, it didn't become apparent until the 400 grit stage. Sometimes you get that.

Choc, I destroyed one of these blades two days ago while building it. The handle needs a blade now, it's brown micarta. I'll be retrofitting it real soon, the exact same pattern as this one... FYI.

Missed this the first time around -- and generally not a fan of hollow ground blades, but that is gorgeous!
awesome job on the hidden tang, nice proportions, and an overall excellent presentation.
definitely going to keep my eye out for your future work!
