This is an awesome old restored axe that I offered here last year. I had some interest but never closed a deal. I'm cleaning some things out so I will offer it here once more before I go to the auction site. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
The axe is a largish C. Hammond of Philadelphia #5 Cast Steel hewing axe. It is in fantastic shape with no rust, cracks, deformation or other damage. It has great patina. I have left it unsharpened but it is otherwise fully restored. The handle is a brand new 20" hickory handle from House Handle. It has a new wooden wedge and is super tight. The entire tool has been treated with boiled linseed oil.
The axe weighs 4.5lb, is 20" long and the head is a bit over 8" long with a 6.5" edge. The price is $90 shipped anywhere in the CONUS, fees included.
