Dropped my knife on the tip

Heart breakingly, I dropped my new Bradley Mayhem on it's tip yesterday and it flattened it a little bit. Anyone got any advice on how to reshape the tip? Or is there a professional service that will do it for me? I have a Spyderco Sharpmaker but I'm thinking that this might be too big of a job for that?

use it, sharpen it and it will fix itself :D

if you want it faster, just sharpening a bunch could help, or bring the spine down but that would (imo) ruin the lines of the blade

Professional service? For what exactly? That knife doesn't appear to require any sort of emergency treatment. Just use it, sharpen it, and repeat. It is a tool afterall. Please tell me you are kidding...

It's quite simple to fix really. As recommended, sharpen normally and you can also bring it down from the spine. A crisp, needle-sharp tip as they come from the factory is a pretty thing but it never lasts for long in use.

I fear it was a serious post

leave it, its a bali and a user, its bound to happen, when you sharpen it up again the point will come out

I have damaged a factory tip before, also. Just touch it up a bit with a fine ceramic hone. Use a magnifying glass to check your work. It is better to leave the rest of the knife alone.

Drag it across a brick wall the opposite way. That should take care of it! JK.

If I'm not mistaken, Bradley is manufactured by Benchmade, so wouldn't sending it in to Benchmade with a request for sharpening fix the problem? My .02

I'm sorry but I've done so much worse to some of mine that I didn't see the problem at first. I agree with most, sharp regularly and it will go away with time.

I can't even see the ding. Maybe I just need new glasses. Anyway, the SharpMaker can definitely take care of something that small. If you are worried about scratching the blade or something like that, then yes, send it to someone who can sharpen it without any problems.

i did that last week with my delica 4,,,i was told just what you have been..hit the sharpener up it will be fine

Lucky you didn't break it :P
my BK14 was dropped on the floor, too.
Since it's tough steel so it didn't snap off, just bent, so I bent it back and grind it a bit :P
In your case, Just grind off the pain...
God I can't look at it anymore, so painful...:P
