Ive had an old barlow for years and years that ive dropped it millions of times. And this old thing has held up well. Now, ive carried benchmades for a couple years but have yet to drop any of them on concrete or something like that from waist height that might cause damage. How well do bencmades and other lightweights hold up to being dropped a lot?

G10 is amazingly resistant to damage. You shouldn't have a problem. (of ocurse, you shouldn't drop your knives in the first place

Good question. Fortunately I haven't had the dis-pleasure of experiencing this myself lately.

I will offer some advice though. If she's open, then let her go!!!!!
You don't get any points for losing blood. Plus, how will you report your damage findings back to us if you don't have the use of your fingers???

I'll openly admit I am a total ham-fisted clutz, and I haven't managed to break any of my Microtechs, Benchmades, Daltons, Bucks, or hardly any of my other knives from dropping them. (they've been dropped alot, sometimes from a few stories high) I did manage to break the handle off a Chicago Cutlery stockman type of knife and once a Swiss Army Knife though. the Chicago Cutlery hurt a little, but the SAK is pretty darn expendable for the price.

I don't know if you'd call it droppin' or flinging..., but I was "practicing" snapping-open my Cold Steel Vaquero Grande a few days ago, and I guess I didn't have a good hold on the knife, because when the blade snapped-open, the knife went flying across the room.

(A 13&1/4 inch long folder flying across the room is quite an "interesting" sight, I've been told.).

Luckly the floor has pretty good carpeting, so my knife was totally un-damaged, and I DID at least have sense enough not to aim the knife at anyone while "flipping it" (just in-case).

I am a total clutz. In fact as we speak, I have my left wrist in a brace after tripping yesterday. I don't think that I will ever hear the end of that one... However, I have dropped my 705 and had it dropped by someone else. A few flakes of G10 came off, but no damage. So, in other words, they hold up pretty good.
Have fun,
Matt
