Dropping your Traditional knife or scuffing it up, does it bother you?

I usually have a moment of anger then I go out to my shop and try to fix it. Only once I couldn't make it right because it fell a couple of stories and hit the pavement. It was very close to being to far gone. I made it look the best I could and gave it to my Buddy. Then I bought another one. Luckily it was a fairly easy knife to replace. The funny thing is I never thought to look through my EDC drawer for something else. My wife says I'm like a dog with a bone when it comes to knives:)

As long as there's no serious damage I don't care, although I'll be annoyed for a bit after dropping a knife. If the scales crack badly, especially if they're stag I'll be mad. Luckily this hasn't happened yet. I dropped my 73 burnt stag the other day and was really happy when I seen it wasn't cracked. One pin might have popped off but I can't tell as it was already deeply recessed into the scales so I really can't tell. Even if it did the other pins are all fine and no other damage so I'm happy. Minor scuffing and such doesn't bother me at all. And some of my knives could take bad damage and I wouldn't care. Only on my favourites would it really bother me, but again only if it was major damage. Ultimately they're tools and material possessions, can't get too overwrought about it.

I don't know if I'm weird or what but a user knife needs 2 get dropped kicked and the pocketed. A new AR gets dropped kicked then used. Dang my new 700 was dropped kicked then killed.
If it don't perform then it's left where it laid.

No, doesn't bother me anymore. It did when I first started carrying traditional knives but eventually it didn't matter. I don't really drop my knives too often... I did drop my Ken Erickson jack in my avatar a few feet onto concrete and got a small ding on the rear mark side bolster but I think it looks fine.

Ladies and gents, this is the traditional forum. Traditional knives and G-rated language only.

I have modified the title to include the word "traditional" as a reminder of which forum this is.

I get a little anxious regarding scuffs etc on my European pocket knives... I'm always trying to be xtra careful when using. My fav knife is the Okapi ratchet knife from S. Africa (it's notorious for coming from the manufacturer as scuffed, dinged and imperfect from the get-go) This is a workman's knife and is supposed to be gnarled.
Even though it's my fav carry, I can relax with it and not worry about marring it. Now, I don't mistreat it, but evrything about the knife and all its imperfections make me relax about it, I enjoy it so much, it's a great knife.
